Daalimpex since 1976
Daalimpex BV was founded in 1976 by two old colleagues Martin Rozendaal en Piet Blankendaal, who both made their career in the business of import and export of agricultural products. From that moment on they decided to start there own enterprise. Apart from exporting these products to many countries in the rest of the world, Daalimpex got hold of the import of early potatoes from Malta, Egypt and Morocco and new onions from New Zealand and South Africa. It was clear that there was an urgent need to possess their own storage and distribution facilities and so the building of the first warehouse in Tuitjenhorn was a fact. In the following years three more cold store terminals were built in Beverwijk. This was the start of a new activity, i.e. storage of chilled and deep-frozen products such as butter, meat, fish, French fries and flower bulbs. The activities of the company were split in two:
